Happenings

1. I got a new job as a bilingual head start teacher-kill me now! ;) I'll be taking care of 15 children (3-5 year olds) for 6 hours Monday-Friday!!! I never thought I'd be a teacher, but here I am now doing the last thing I'd ever thought I'd be doing.

2. Both my girls start school Monday. Avonlea will start at a preschool/daycare and Arianna will be starting kindergarten. yikes!!!

3. Robert has been traveling non stop. He's gone next week, home for 3 weeks and then off traveling again for 8 weeks straight!!! Talk about roughness on me starting a new job, taking care of dropping and getting girls at daycare/school, and just not having him around to help is h.a.r.d! Not only that, but it's hard on our relationship too.

4. My sister-in-law Angela just had baby Owen weighing in at 8lbs, 1oz, and 19 inches. Hard to believe since the girl is super tiny.

5. We moved both girls into the same room so I can have my own room to store stuff (i'm being selfish-we only have 3 bedrooms and i'm tired of putting my crafts, gift stuff, party stuff in garage).

6.  My little sis is getting married in just a few weeks-with that comes prepping for the day and taking care of throwing a shower for her and having a bachelorate night. Oh and I'm taking care of dessert table at reception.

7. My baby turns 3 the end of July and with that comes a party. I just sent out the evites and I'll need to start prepping for that too!

Lots going on and happening all so fast! People, please pray for me because thinking of everything stresses me out.

Oh my we're in trouble!!!

God has blessed us with some purty gals!!! We're in trouble for sure! I have to brag but I think these pictures of my girls are just adorable and say a lot about their personality.

My girlie girl (ALL GIRL-likes to put make up, wants to dress up all.the.time, hair has to be just right) smart Arianna-almost looks like a minature cheerleader. Ay!!!

 And then there's my Avonlea.....

Oh geez...Avonlea, our miss little personality-crazy and funny!!!
Not one day goes by where she doesn't make me laugh so hard!!

Some of the Greatest Feelings in the world...

Some of the best and greatest feelings in the world (and in my opinon) are those that you feel so good about and just give you a sense of happiness, accomplishment, and a feeling of high, etc. I've decided to list some in no particular order just because....
1. Knowing that you are not alone in this world (God takes care of me and my family and friends love me!).
2. Having a clean house. I'm sorry people, but when someone can knock on the door unexpectedly and you can simply invite them in without having to be embarrassed of what your house looks like, this to me is the best feeling
3. Putting on your pjs or sweats or whatever makes you sit back and relax-after a hard long day, this is very much needed
4. When you know you look good and someone actually points it out :) or compliments period.
5. When you've worked so hard at something (party planning, cooking, baking, cleaning, working your butt off, etc...) and someone actually appreciates you for it.
6. A hug and kiss from your spouse and/or child
7. Knowing my children are healthy and alive on a daily basis
8. Finishing something you thought you couldn't do (example for me: a marathon)
9. Starbucks! OR A good margarita or Amaretto sour-yes, sometimes after a stressful day I have to say it feels dang good!
10. The feeling that you know everything is going to be okay and nothing can touch you.
11. Making people you love laugh, smile and happy.
12. Being able to bless people who need help in some way or another
13. Friends who appreciate you and make the effort to hang out
14. Laughing until your stomach hurts
15. Being debt free
16. Vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
17. Crawling into bed and snuggling
18. A handwritten letter, receiving cards in the mail, or just getting a special text or email from a special person in your life.
19. When people around you actually meet your expectations or plainly listen to you when you know you are right.
20. Having to pee or poop so bad and finally getting to a toilet..hahaha

Those are just some of the many most awesome feelings in the world (to me). There are so many more that the list can go on, but i'll stop so as not to bore you any longer. What are yours?

Pre-K graduation...omg!

My child is going into Kindergarten in just a few short months ya'll!!! Seems as though she was just born the other day. My goodness! Well last week she graduated from Pre-K. It was so cute. They had a mini graduation and all. They walked in to the theme graduation song, sang some cute songs, recited a few things they learned, and had a picture slide show. Yes, I did get emotional and almost cry (okay I did) but then had to stop myself and say, "This is freakin' pre-k!!!"

Here are a few pictures of her graduation.

One shower after another

People I've been hiatus! So sorry....I've been too busy to sit down and focus on a blog. I doubt I was missed. :)
Here's what I've been up to....party planning!!! I mean seriously. I feel as though all I do is showers lately (only 2 really, but it seems like a lot). I've got too many people around me who are pregnant. Don't take me wrong...I've enjoyed doing it and can't wait to do more in the future. So here are a few pics....
Momma to be Emily. Little baby Olivia will be making her debut any day now.
The Table-I decided to go with fun bright girlie spring colors

My sister-in-law Angela pregnant with Owen Patrick
Angela is big into vintage...So I decided to throw her a vintage feel shower. I have to be honest and real here, but I was so proud of this shower that I pinned it unto pinterest. Am I wrong in doing so? I worked soooo hard on this one and did it all by myself minus the food. All I did was the chocolate covered popcorn and pretzels...aside from that, food was taken care of Angela's best friend, my mother-in-law and her mother-in-law. I did all the planning and decor. I asked my husband if that was going too far (pinning pics on pinterest) because I'm actually a bit embarrassed that I pinned my own pictures. Whatever! I did it! So here it is.....

Isn't the popcorn colored layers so cute?!! Proud of that too. Lol

Drink Table-You can't really tell here, but the paper hanging
is chalk board scrap paper. I labeled the drinks on there.
I added the window and added the pics behind it. I also took the pregnant pics myself.
So anyone want to hire me? I'm that good right?! I mean dang I've been a little Martha Stewart lately. Haha! I'm so kidding and if you know me, you know I'm being sarcastic.
Next...another friends shower on Friday! This one however due to it being last minute, will not be an actual shower...more like a friends get together and eat dinner at a place kind of get together. All I have to do is make some kind of dessert and perhaps decorate a small table.

Following this...it'll be three weddings!!! We've got a busy few months ahead.

Our First Born is 5

5 Years ago, God gifted us with this little itty bitty beauty who came into our lives 2 days after her due date weighing in at 6lbs 90z and 18' long:

Today she's turned from that little thing into this grown up little gorgeous girl with a sassy attitude. :)

Happy birthday Arianna! Daddy and Mommy love you so much. You are a gift and blessing from God and we couldn't thank Him enough.

I can't believe you'll be starting Kindergarten in the fall!!! My goodness where has the time gone??!!

Viva Mexico!

I've been back from Mexico now since Sunday. 2 weeks of being away is actually a freakin' long time...more so when you are with your family...when that's all you have to depend on to get you to places here and there. I'm glad to be home but I will miss my extended family who we hadn't seen in 10 years and who we will probably not see again for who knows how many years. Sad to think about it that way but it's true. Trip there is expensive...and people we drove! Call us crazy, but we did save money not having to buy airline tickets. They were $800+ a piece!
In all honesty, we had a great time. I enjoyed watching Robert try new things and seeing everything for the first time. We did get to spend a lot of quality time with my family and do a lot of stuff. None of the family had met our girls nor had most met Robert.  We made some great memories and I'll never forget them.

Now think of my white blonde haired family in a foreign country full of tan dark haired people! They STUCK OUT! I mean reeeaaally! I told Robert to enjoy the attention while he got it. hahaha. They were seriously looked at like they had never seen white people in their lives. I mean no joke. Avonlea more so than Arianna got starred at...oh and touched. yeah! I guess she's even more blonde and her eye brows are white that it looks like she has none. People would point, ask if they could touch her hair, and tell me how pretty of a white girl she was. It was the most hilarious thing. People loved her...both girls. Now me being 1/2 Mexican and all didn't get the starres. Would have been nice though to get them occassionally you know...would have helped boost my self esteem just a little. ha! Dang Mexicans.

Our time there was so precious and I'm so glad we were able to visit with my grandparents. They are in their mid 80's so time with them was important.

Here are a few pictures/highlights of our trip I thought I'd share:

My cute little white family :)
A view of Monterrey! The mountain the background is called
Cierra de la Silla (Saddle mountain)
Visited an old isolated town where all roads were made out of stones
called Real de Catorce (The movie the Mexican was filmed here)
My grandparents joined us
We went horseback riding! So fun!
Avonlea rode with me until it somewhat scared her that she screamed,
"I want the cowboy!"
Here she is with our guide (aka the cowboy)
Avonlea was impressed and taken away
by the size of the piñatas
Arianna absolutely loved them and I wish I could have
brought home one with me
Avonlea enjoying a taco! Yummy!!!
My dad, Avonlea and me enjoying being at the top with a view
of the Monterrey where my dad grew up
She loved this underground lamp and posed. lol
Loved me some markets!
My sweet grandparents...a picture I will forever cherish.
My Mexican family who we enjoyed spending time with. :)
Oh the fun we had!
Us, grandparents, and my parents
We got to enjoy something else aside from tacos!
Visiting little towns
Going down big fun slides at a park called Chipenke
Celebrating Arianna's 5th birthday with all our family
Watching her hit a life size piñata

There was so much more fun but those were some of our highlights that made our trip so special. God protected us from any and all danger (as things are said to be so bad there). And there are no regrets. Our time there was sweet. Thank you God for the opportunity.
