Completed!

After 3 months of commited training for the Country Music 1/2 Marathon, I can finally say I did it!!!! 13.1 miles. I crossed the finish line at 2 hours and 21 minutes. I can't say it was a piece of cake, because it was H.A.R.D HARD!!! I have to admit I walked a little of it. If I had ran the whole thing I could have done it in less time, but I really tried. I never thought it in a zillion years I could accomplish such a thing, but my focus and commitment kept me going. I wanted to proof to myself and others that I could do this. Here I am with my friends who completed and Emily. We kept each other going most of the way.

And OMG the hills! The first hill seemed to be neverending as was the last hill before finish. I thought I was going to pass out on that last hill. However, the run didn't really start bothering me until after mile marker 11 into 12. I was fine up until that point. Seriously, the crowd of people and my friends kept me going. I loved them all for giving me the energy I needed.

This was such an amazing experience. I remember when I was running past Vanderbilt and looking ahead and seeing thousands of people in front of me! Wow! It was an unbelievable experience and I wish I had a picture to have captured that moment. I got emotional thinking about how wonderful this little adventure was and that I was doing it with that many people!

For a while now I've been wanting to run one of these marathons and now I can say I did. Check Mark! When I started running back in January, I could barely do 1/2 a mile. For real! Now I know I can run at least a full 12 miles. When I reached the finish line I actually got somewhat emotional. I was so proud of myself for actually completing it. Very cool indeed.

What shall my next adventure/goal be?! A triathalon maybe? :) I guess you'll just have to wait and see.
