And OMG the hills! The first hill seemed to be neverending as was the last hill before finish. I thought I was going to pass out on that last hill. However, the run didn't really start bothering me until after mile marker 11 into 12. I was fine up until that point. Seriously, the crowd of people and my friends kept me going. I loved them all for giving me the energy I needed.
This was such an amazing experience. I remember when I was running past Vanderbilt and looking ahead and seeing thousands of people in front of me! Wow! It was an unbelievable experience and I wish I had a picture to have captured that moment. I got emotional thinking about how wonderful this little adventure was and that I was doing it with that many people!
For a while now I've been wanting to run one of these marathons and now I can say I did. Check Mark! When I started running back in January, I could barely do 1/2 a mile. For real! Now I know I can run at least a full 12 miles. When I reached the finish line I actually got somewhat emotional. I was so proud of myself for actually completing it. Very cool indeed.
What shall my next adventure/goal be?! A triathalon maybe? :) I guess you'll just have to wait and see.
